I've looked at the CRG's. They are a little spendy but they do have replacement parts readily available.

The geometry of the CRG levers makes them a joy to use. Spend the money you'll be pleasantly surprised. I kick myself for waiting so long,I actually waited until the clutch lever flat wore out. Do it.

It's been 1 month since I bought this bike and luckily have a friend that humored me in parking lots getting use to it in the meantime.

MSF classes start tonight. I'm pretty excited and extremely humbled all at the same time.

The MSF course was awesome, intense, fatiguing and worth it.

The class was great and the instructors where very encouraging and gave great guidance.

I would recommend this class even for those that have been riding as there were several things that sharpened my driving skills as well. I feel informed and a tiny bit safer out on the open roads. Looking forward to an advance class next spring with Team Oregon.

Riding reports to commence this weekend.

    Cheers.

Totally agree. The MSF was super helpful, and I've been practicing some of the stuff in parking lots periodically since I took it a few weeks back. I would hate to have to figure out/deal with some of the very basic scenarios from the MSF for the first time in traffic. Definitely taking the more advanced classes very soon. This shit is fun (still knocking down miles on my bike, though).

    Also, pdx, very nice bike.

    Also, I bought this Honda.

I took my wife for a ride last weekend. Only stopped for fuel and later for ice-cream. DSC_0232~2.jpg

The corner worker found the end of one of the fingers on the racetrack, but it had been sitting out in the sun too long and it didn’t take.
I hope I never have to say that about my hand, but if I do, and I can say just as casually he did, I'll be d@mn proud of it for the rest of my life.

    What a stud.

To us that may seem fast but to Dave? Not so sure. It was filmed in the 80's so he had a FILM camera strapped to him and what looks like a car battery... you can see the rig in the beginning of the video here:

For what it is worth, and for anyone interested:

Dave Roper to reprise Historic TT win with Classic TT appearance 30 years on - The official Isle of Man TT website

""Dave Roper, the first American to win a TT, is returning to the Isle of Man this year to mark the 30th anniversary of his success in the 1984 Historic TT Race. Roper will parade the very same 1959 Matchless G50, frame number 1709, that he rode to victory in the three-lap event in the Classic Racer Magazine Classic TT Lap of Honour on Monday 25th August. The parade lap is part of the Isle of Man Classic TT Races presented by Bennetts.

"We've gone to great pains to restore the bike to exactly the condition that it was in in 1984," said Robert Iannucci, owner of Team Obsolete in New York, who keeps the G50 in his stable of around 60 classic machines...."

follow the link for the rest of the scoop.

Spotted last night evening in front of a couple of retail stores, which included a bike shop. I stuck my head in the bike shop (how did I know) and asked "which one of you owns the awesome cycle?" A smiling gent from behind the counter raised his hand. Works in progress that are used like they are supposed to always impress me.

Well. I'm 1500 miles in and am hooked. Found a lot of good protective gear and looking to take some advance classes for next spring. Took this last weekend on a quick trip to Vernonia.

    Complete idiots.

And when one of them loops it at speed, the first thing thing their pals will do is call 911 begging for help...
