I could go on and on about this but I think some pictures would do it more justice.

Stopped by the Stuart Parr Collection in midtown today. Took a few photos. Actually I think I photographed every motorcycle there. Here is the first. More later.

There was a time in the late '70s, maybe very early 80s, when new 750S Americas were being disposed of for $2000 a pop. Two friends of mine took advantage of that. I, alas, did not.

I'm fully prepared to admit that this is proof that I'm a middle-aged wuss, but as far as motors on vehicles with less than four wheels go, this looks like plenty of fun to me. Yes, I know, it doesn't lean, but I have my non-motorized bikes for that.

Okay, here is the final cut. I probably got some of the information wrong because 1.) I like motorcycles but only have room in my head for minutae about bicycles and 2.) I didn't write anything down or take photos of the identifying placards. Below are some of my favorites.

    BTW, they have a shop.

Yeah that Ducati F1 is something else. It has a lockable hook for hanging your helmet! Wait what?

    First time opening this thread.

Have always loved motors on two wheels, father hated them.

Didn't have many bikes, sold this one more than 18 years ago, and haven't had another since.

Have a lot of good memories of Sundays at Marcus Dairy and country roads.

I think I would have a bike if I lived somewhere I could keep it inside with space to work on it. And I would need a spot to work in it because I would likely get something that was older rather than taking the easy way out and getting something that just looked classic (Ducati has one and several others do as well) and required far less maintenance. I've also imagined myself living on a farm and driving around the place on a KTM. And living with Juliet Binoche. And having a dog. And being able to make myself invisible and fly anywhere I want.

Rode my motorcycle to the train station today. Realized that every single day, I have more fun between 6:50am and 7:04am than most people do all day.

A few years ago I was at the WSBK at Miller and talked with a gent who was riding one. He had purchased it for an insanely low amount of money from a storage sale....some people have all the luck.

Earlier today a buddy of mine who has a Beemer was telling me about the Kawasaki Triple. He said they had a bit of a fearsome reputation because the power came on so quickly at the higher rpms. Sounds like fun, if they didn't kill you.

The rep on those has something to do with the light switch powerband. Probably a lot more to do with the brakes, tires and chassis ability to deal with it.

This past week I have been riding to work a 690 Duke. Yesterday on the ride home, it started raining and getting stuck behide a huge truck was not a good thing. So I opened up the throttle and passed the truck at about 140km/h and just keep going. I then see a policeman waving at me so I pull over. Scheiße !!
I have to say that the police in Austria are the most friendly I have ever had to deal with. He told me that KTM bikes are his favorate and Australians are cool people. So I had a win with both!
Then he said to give him €20 and ride safe.
Next week I am riding the Super Duke so I think I should keep an extra €40 in my pocket. :)
Keep the rubber side down and have a good weekend guys and girls!!

My pal up in the Catskills who is pretty serious about his motorcycles just got a Super Duke 1290 like the one below. I am looking forward to seeing it when we go up in late May.

Jealous of your rides! What do you think of the Duke 690 as an around-town, occasional freeway commuter type bike?
