Josh-shoot me a pm with a link - just got back from 3 days on the BRP with the Duc- Cville to Boone, Boone to Mt Michell and back to Floyd, and home from Floyd. The closure on the BRP sucked, it takes you thru 20 miles of urban roads around Roanoke. Otherwise a stellar trip. No speed enforcement at all until 1 mi before our exit back at US 250, and I was in chill mode at that point.
Leaves are near peak in Western NC, still a week or two to go at the northern end due to lower altitude, but the late rains look like it'll make stellar color.
The Floyd Hotel was stellar, will certainly return to use it as a base.

Got it, thanks. Will have to catch up for a ride either end of this season or next.

I would not have parked this bike at this particular corner in the neighborhood, but perhaps it’s coolness kept the riffraff away.

I think that's Batman's bike, so probably safe just about anywhere.

Is that a new GS? Interesting that it’s not silver, and the saddle looks closer to the ground than on the older models.

Ha no I’d probably choose an 850. I’d convince myself I could pick up 500 pounds but not 600.

    That's gonna be really loud.

That was my first bike back in 15'. I had a Akropovic full exhaust installed on it. Without the baffle installed it would set off car alarms downtown portland.

Needless to say, i didn't ride it like that for very long.

Sooooo before we lived in this house there was this "guy" who would roll past our house at 5am. Mind you this was a sidestreet leading to another side street so hardly any excuse to rap the pipes. He would roll down the street doing half throttle raps of his lovely Harley and yeah it had straight pipes so woke the dead. We had words. Basically, I told him that the bike was sweet but he was pissing off alot of people. Sometimes it just makes sense to be nice ;)
