Zack rides the Transalp. As a vicarious motorcyclist I’ve been waiting for this one. I’ve been a fan of Honda motorcycles since I was a kid, and an owner of several Honda cars.

    Whilst I'm wiping drool...............

I sold my last motorbike in 2005. Have not been near one since - miss them like an amputated limb.

I was in our regional capital town/city last week (a very rare occurrence) and I stepped into a motorcycle store (and even rarer occurrence) The smell of motorcycles was intoxicating. My heart rate rapidly elevated and I truly became as giddy as a kid in a lolly shop. That particular smell of motobikes - petrol engines, motor oil, chain lube fresh fat rubber hoops - the smell hit me like an arrow - I was instantly transformed back to my riding/racing days. Just standing still, bearing witness to a rank of motorbikes on their sidestands on a shop floor gave me a huge adrenaline rush.

Made my day, my week, maybe even my month.

Someone parks a KTM 390 on the street outside my wife's apartment in Paris (not my wife - I mean, I don't think my wife has a KTM - does she?) that is all black with just the frame bit that holds the motor beneath the tank painted orange. I could see having that instead of a scooter.

(searches interwebs) like this one only with more scratches and scars:>

I live within walking distance of a Triumph dealer. You’ve described why I haven’t walked there. Yet.

Just once is enough. I used to own a dealership where we sold H-D. Still don’t like ‘em.

I was kind of disappointed to not win the 1983 BMW R80ST this past Saturday.

It was completely restored by Brook Reams of Brook's Airhead Garage ( https://brook.reams.me ... and ... https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...vbeIGrhrYVZjZB ) and documented in great detail on his website and YouTube channel.

Originally the bike was to be auctioned off to the highest bidder, with all proceeds going to charity, but the BMWMOA stepped in and offered to run it as a raffle.

This allowed for anyone to get a chance to be the new owner!

    Oh well, I didn't win.

But the money for the tickets I bought went to the charity.

    And, I have a backup!

    Here's Brook's restoration....

Here's mine, a 1984 (Fewer than 6,000 were ever made, and only 1,000 were imported to the United States, two years only)...
