A bud of mine is selling this super clean SV650. He's a local Portlander. Some of you may even know him or have raced with him on occasion.

Told him that I would post here as there is a good contingent of NW riders. email him if interested. shannon@bikegallery.com

If I remember the story I believe his knee put that ding in the tank. $3400.00

Nice SV! I might also suggest listing it on the Pacific NW Riders forum as well. Here.

    Thanks. I'll let him know.

As a side comment I'm in AUSTIN and spent the weekend at COTA.

Great track and venue. Almost world class but needs better all around promotion for North America.

I passed by this bike the other day while walking with my wife and before I could catch a second glance, she said "don't even think about it".

I know you know this but you married up and should listen to her. Mine pulls in the reins on most of my wacky thoughts.

looks like a great bike. i didn't ride a speed triple when i was shopping- but it's torque and horsepower seem to be right where a sporty street bike should be. i went with a ducati supersport S- frankly because it looked a lot better and i didn't want a naked bike.

The Supersport S is great looking bike. To this day, the '96 900SP is one of the favorite bikes I have owned.

If I add a second bike to the garage (current is a 2010 BMW F800GS), it's main job will be ripping around the Hill Country and turning laps at COTA and the like on track days. The other bike I am considering is a 2010-2012 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 EVO SP; the last of the air cooled Hypermotard. As was comparing the two bikes, I was very surprised to see the Speed Triple RS dry weight is the same as the 1100 EVO SP.

So, this happened on Friday. Next up, get a 1000 miles on it before a track day at COTA on 11/26!

Nice. Guy that owns 2 Stroke Coffee up by me just traded in his last gen for one of these.

He had some nice touches on it as well.

As a fellow Triumph owner it looks pretty nice. Just hope you have a lot more luck than I have on a 16 Speedie.

Bike has had an engine case replaced from warranty last Oct. Then the damn thing burned through 2 litres of oil on a trip down to WSBK in Monterey and left me high and dry on the way home.

Needless to say the honey moon is over. I'd sell it after the last batch of repairs. Looking to set me back $4k for crankshaft, piston and labor.

Not sure what I'm going to do in terms of replacement or I hold on to it for a few more years.

Yeah, it's been a little bit of a headache.

I have to say Triumph did take care of me on the engine case replacement and made me whole.

This recent oil consumption though was a real PITA and I'm still not happy with how things have turned out.

No modern engine should burn 2 quarts of oil in 1800 miles. That's just horse shit atmo.

Anywho. woes me. I've owned the bike for 14 months and it's been at the dealer getting repairs and waiting for parts the better part of 6 months....
