I work on and off for a few companies that do design for showrooms, corporate offices, large events in the fashion industry. This is a really simple idea for a wall decoration that we did in a high end fashion house's flagship store, his display in Lord and Taylor, as well as in his home. The guy who's name was on Marty McFly's underwear.

We took lumber, cut about a foot long and quartered. Pour water and powdered dye into a large bucket and let the lumber soak. Lay down something to protect the floor, and start playing Tetris. Try and keep the sides and top (not done well here, as we moved it from the showroom to our old studio to our new studio) flat and even for a nice clean look. You can put it on the floor or on a ledge. Works as low as a foot high, or go all the way up to the ceiling.

The wood pictured is a little beat up from several moves, but you get the idea.
