Step 1. Ask this person to define "communist." Just request a simple definition. Or, better yet, ask him or her to differentiate "communism" and "socialism." Or, better yet, ask him or her to define a "republic" or a "democracy."
Step 2. Grab a beer.
Step 3. Sit back and enjoy the hilarity.

Democracy is where the government uses the money in the budget to give tax breaks to private businesses that make big campaign contributions and have good lobbyists.

Communism is where the government uses the money in the budget to enable lazy, drug addicted, teen mothers than don't look like me or live in my neighborhood to free load on all the hard workers.

Democracy is good, and communism is bad. My non-ordained pastor at the church that looks like a pole barn on the edge of town told me so. I like him because he doesn't care if I wear my ball cap in church.
