Although it is painted, Chris's bike is built with Reynolds 953 stainless steel tubing throughout. The lugs and crown have a bare brushed stainless steel finish.

    Thank you,

    Dave

    This week in the barn:

A vintage Zipp. I re-bonded the BB inserts last year. The owner went over some rough roads (and many thousand km's) since and now the headset had play. I bonded in some shims to tighten things up.

Short week with lots of office work (which I made the call not to photograph).

    Fun with powder experiments:

It's been awhile since I posted. Here's what I've been working on. I hope everyone gets out on the bike for the weekend.

This one's been completed for a while but I just got around to building her up:

Enough pretty stuff. :-) On to some ugly amateur work.

Son of FrankenFrame got finished up this week. Frame #0002.5 came out decent. Certainly better than the first.

I think it's pretty darn straight, but I can't tell for certain. I may hit up a local builder to put it on their table and let me know what's what so I can get the next one better.

There's still some clean up to do then it's off to the painter. Yup, I'm actually going to paint this one instead of just leaving it naked and rusting under some clear coat.

My second attempt at some semi-wrap around seat stays didn't turn out well. That section of the bike is a tough one to get looking really nice.

Nice ass! I at least got the fillets for the seat stays more or less symmetrical this time around. Progress then.

This one got some reinforcements for the brake bridge. Frame 1.5 did without them and hasn't failed yet, but I figured better safe than sorry. Plus they just look better.

    Now what to build next?

Drain hole for the bottom bracket.

Why stop at a simple hole when all of Richard's beautiful Sax Max lugs have heart-shaped cut-outs?
