Silly watch detail - I need a new plastic band

A few years ago the metal band on my Luminox started to give me problems so I took the "rubber" band from an old HRM and I've really liked the look. Only problem is that that band is about to go bust so I need to replace it with another one.

1) Is there a preferred material for the plastic bands (black) or are they all the same thing anyway?

2) I can just Google "watch bands" and buy one from the first place that comes up, or get one from the watch band place at the local mall, but if there is such a thing as a good band and a bad band, any leads on where to get the good ones would be great.

Have you thought about a nylon strap?

Wow - the Campy Record of watch bands. I think I need a Veloce instead...

Thanks for the leads, guys. I think I have a few nylon straps in a drawer somewhere, but I don't think any of them are black. I'll check.
