    Picked up a bottle of Busha Browne's Pukka sauce. Made from Scotch Bonnet, complete with warnings one the label, I expected ridiculously hot. It's definitely not as hot as they make it out to be, it has a sweet and sour consistency, with a medium hot heat and similar sweetness.

    I just scored a bottle of this: Dona Maya Chiltepin Hot Sauce.

    Mehhh, it is very thin. You can taste the chiltepin pepper but the sauce is pretty unambitious. Swing and a miss.

    I guess I need to peruse the aisles at our local Mexican grocery stores, and we have several. I'll report back with findings.

    Nope. Two large and two small bottles. In theory the two small bottles were for gifting.

    i like this thread. i like salsa and hot food.
    i like the advice to but one at a time. its difficult to do. wise nonetheless. waste n all that.

    i have tried a few none of which i have noted the names of. which makes it difficult because i don't want to re-buy one of these. see...

    well.. where are the recipes?

    Got myself this for Christmas and tried a few drops on my boiled egg this morning. Good heat with a little sweet, not too vinegary... might make a vat of sweet cherry chili this weekend instead of black eyed peas, then sit back and watch my balls drop.

    I'm fired up. I've been gathering my taco making skills which amt. to none. That will go well with some homemade tacos,fish and slaw I've got on the menu this weekend.

    Local to the area in which I live: Wild Kenyan Hot Sauce from Kenyan Cafe. Nice spicy heat, very good flavor.

    Definitely worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood. Not sure if you can order the hot sauce online yet, but Dennis might ship some out with a phone call...or I could possibly be convinced to drop some in the mail.

    Seriously, the Chilipequin are a thing of beauty. I'm a sick puppy. Last eve. I had a bowl of salted cashews with a few tossed in whole + a frosty. That made me a happy boy. I'm easing into the hot sauces. Hate to break into them too heavily until I get my taco game on 100%...almost there. I'm struggling with thickness so have a taco press on order.
    This weekend I'm going to combine the Chilipequin with salt and some Israeli paprika to make a dry rub for a bird on the Big Green Egg....it will likely be so hot nobody but me wants to eat it!!!

    The Pequin are nice, eh? Not as hot as the Tepin and a nice smoke taste - smooooth. I'm not sure anyone makes Pequin hotsauce, but I'll look - off to Mexico in a week.

    Anyone a fan of Harissa? There is a Halal food truck I've been stalking at lunchtime. He makes an insanely hot and garlic Harissa that is generously layered onto his pita sandwiches. Super nice for sandwiches or a hummos plate. ZNFNDL brought over a bowl of the stuff for out superbowl party. Thanks buddy, good stuff.

    It really is amazing how helpful an interweb of knowledge can be. This weekend I saw the Cholula hot sauce out for use in a sandwich shop we went to in Ely, MN. Of course I had to try it after seeing the recommendations on here. Really great stuff for a sauce you can find in nearly any supermarket. I am now the proud owner of a bottle that I will most likely have to replenish next week.

    Ill keep an eye out for those.

    Right now I am using Trader Joes habanero hot sauce- its pretty good.

    I often just rely on a few chipotle chiles for spice.
