    take care, james
    Ciao James,
is correct, in a year I built 21 different frames for a pro rider and the differences of geometry were substantive, now my thoughts at the time was:
It is possible that a rider with a very long experience (more than a decade), which ride for more than 15000 miles every year, which should have developed a good position on his bike , has not yet an acceptable idea of what he needs?
It is possible , to a lacking sensibiity, external factors due to the many people who offer technical contributions without having the necessary background , and the pursuit of something more that probably will not ever.
    take care

I guess during the early 90's - when you were building for the pro's - we first started to see titanium bikes become popular in the peloton.
Other builders in Italy, such as Doriano De Rosa, started producing titanium frames around this time - and continue to do so. Did you have any interest in using it?

    Ciao Paolo,
I have built some titanium frame at the beginning of the 90's, about twenty, was a time when the titanium was requested in the peloton , I must say that I have had many difficulties in the implementation and organisation of the workshop, titanium requires precaution and treatment different than other materials and I found it is hard to share two requirements in the same workshop , and also , that here in Italy, unlike the United States , was much more difficult to find the necessary material and that was not possible to develop tubes with different thicknesses and diameters than some standard dimension, having said that I think is a good material to build a frame and proves by the fact that Doriano de Rosa as carl strong or darren crisp do AN excellent work.

Dario according te the sensitivity to understand really well the behavior of the bike is an innate or can develop over the years with such practice?
Did you ever find an amateur cyclist who has amazed at how she could feel and to describe the behavior of the bike?
    Hello

it's a sort of after marketing....
    Hi
from what you write (I don't want the extended head tube , and I want the enve fork ) it seems that you have clear ideas about what you want.
    It is correct?

    Hey Dario,

My wife had a Responsorium built, dedicated to daughter Whitney who died from brain cancer at 21. It has "Cancer Sucks" on the seat tube.
She rode it for the first time in the El Tour de Tucson last weekend and she loves the ride of the steel... the Wilier is up for sale now.

With over 8,000 cyclists, we didn't see any other Pegoretti's.
She got a lot of compliments about the bike and she just loves it.

    Thanks.

Extended head tube issue is separate. That depends on your fit/requirements, and if you wanted to order a stock frame, an LBS you trust could cut down the head tube.

But, as far as the fork is concerned.
If any custom builder specs a particular fork with their frame, I would get that fork!

I'm going to quote a Dave Kirk interview: "I feel very strongly about forks and every Kirk frame goes out the door with it’s made to match Kirk fork. I do not offer off the shelf forks. Each one is designed and built to match the frame’s geometry and the desired ride qualities. It’s next to impossible to get the handling and alignment just right when ½ of the design was done by someone else who knows nothing about the needs to the rider. The frame and fork need to be designed together to work properly together and to give the proper handling and ride. "

I know ENVE forks are well respected, but Dario has gone through the effort of developing a fork to his specifications. Not only does it compliment the aesthetic of his frames, but it will ride like he wants his forks to ride. This goes beyond rake or axle to crown length (perhaps even more overlooked than rake!), it is the lateral/torsional stiffness and compliance that he wants. The Falz fork completes Dario's frame design. I personally wouldn't get a Peg with any other fork. (Except for a pegoretti Steel fork)

    Ciao,
I remember very well this frame , and the feeling during the paint work, I am really happy that you and your wife love the frame.
