    Hi,
Is it possible to order a head tube head badge, for when I have my Duende painted?

P.S. Its an EOM 16.5 Duende that will need to be blasted and repainted for rust prevention.

Just curious, what's the difference between the EOM 16.5 and the Columbus Spirit? I have a Marcelo in 16.5 and a BLE in Spirit.

    cheers!

    16.5 is Dedacciai
    Spirit is Columbus

    this is the main difference

I have no idea about the difference on the road: I have used only Spirit

One rides like heaven on earth and will last forever with no maintenance. The other will fail unpredictably and catastrophically, causing severe injury.

I forget which is which, though.

David, since the risk is so high and you can't remember which is which, I should sell both and get something more predictable like a plastic bike. For an old fart like me, I should not have to live with such anxiety. Bad for my heart.

    Hi Dario,

Missed seeing these photos before. Where is the bike shop in Taipei? Would love to visit it next time I am there.

It is great you are gaining a good following in the Far East.

    Dear Master Dario

I'm asking question on behalf of a friend.

He own a Great Googoolee Moogoolee (GGM). After many years the headset needed replacement.

Can U give me the specification of the headset? He intend to replace with Chris King Inset.

    Thank U & regards

    Dear Mr Pegoretti,

Regarding the above question, I have a Great Googoolee Moogoolee and would very like to know the answer to this question too.
Also, how do you find the year of manufacture of a Pegoretti frame? My bike has the frame number 8**, would this be sequential?

    Many thanks

Not sure if Dario still looks here but I have a question.
What are his views on larger BB30 and the like bottom brackets? Would his frames benefit from them? Is he planning on offering them as an option?
    Thanks

I haven't seen this posted, but maybe I missed it. I was just looking at Dario's site and saw this:

Da oggi, metà novembre 2012, ho deciso di non vendere più telai in Italia.

Does anyone know anything about this decision? Maybe it's in response to the stronger international demand?

From today, middle of November 2012, I decided not to sell frames in Italy anymore.

I am sure the decision is because of the strong international demand. As an Italian living abroad I am always really happy when I see quality Italian products appreciated worldwide.

    Great job Round!

Not the largest collection here, but I think I represent well. Three Campagnolo groups, one set on a vintage Colnago. The other is the moto; an MV Agusta Brutale (which, sadly, doesn't get nearly enough miles). I do love what the Italians do with bikes.

This is a part of the answer...the other part is that so many people here in Italy presume to know everything about framebuilding than framebuilders themselves...that's why the situation is so sad here in our beautiful country.
And remember, the hurried cat gives birth to blind kittens.

As someone who's waiting on a MxxxxxO, it's my gain and their loss. But it's unfortunate. You'd think that after all these years and all the history that Dario has had a hand in, he'd be at a point where he gets a pass. For me, the decision was based on wanting a handbuilt steel frame born from decades of racing knowledge and heritage. If I wanted custom filleting, I could have gone to any builder who offers such craftsmanship. Both are fine. I just wanted Dario's flavor of bike.

Dario, who are some of the better fit experts in the United States (that obviously sell your frames/forks)?
I know of one in Bryn Mawr, PA that is very adamant that he is the finest fitter in all the land, but I know of a few people who were fit there that do not agree with his end result.
But, the rider may know very little about what is proper positioning vs. what feels good to them.
