New paint in my carport

There are more pics on this that I still need to upload. Gus, the painter (the big dude with the bad pants), is a college pal of one of my friends here (part of our regular beer/bbq crew). Gus is also a somewhat fanatical painter. We all floated the idea to him of doing something in my carport which as of last Thursday was a bare cinderblock wall on one side. The paint is acrylic and everything was brushed on. Starting on Friday, this was primed, sealed and basic shapes sketched in. The attached video was shot on Sunday at around 5pm. I know it is shaky, raw and lo-qual, but I wanted to get the removal of the borders and get a shot of it when Gus declared that he was happy with the progress. Pretty impressive to watch him work - the detail on this is pretty incredible. Lots of beer and cooked meat at our place all weekend.

Gus doesnt drink, so none of the beer was for him. Dude was so locked in on the job - some coffee with half and half - not milk, half and half, some dark chocolate....he barely ate or drank or peed or anything.....once the paint opened, he just went for it.

The beer was for us helper/spectators. It was hot out there and a cold beverage was quite refreshing. We all feasted in the evenings. Tri-tips on friday, pork sirloin chops on saturday and slow cooker pulled pork on sunday.

Next step on that is to put a coat of varnish over the top to seal it up and hook up some lighting and get a mat or some carpet for the ground. The paint makes it a nice party space and a good extension of our patio, that I have already wired up with an airport to some outdoor speakers. The grill and cooler have already proven their effectiveness many times.
