    Default Friday PicFest No.139

Kicking this off early as E-R is busy, Zank is busy with the new family addition (congradulations, you THREE!) and I'm out of here in a few for my lovely wife's 40th b-day - she still looks like a kid!

Just finished another one, played around with a Land Shark esque paintjob. My painter did the base coat and clear and I took it in between to go at it with the airbrush.

Both fork legs show lateral cracks on the underside of the bend at the brass filled vent hole. Didn't show until I stripped the paint. This frame and fork came in for a repaint, and I'm glad I caught it. Patina is nice, but be sure what you're riding if it's 30 years old. Things wear out.

Cyclocross frame ready for paint and a couple of random messy bench shots.

I've been busy all summer riding, instead of building. Good thing its not my day job.

Now that the weather is starting to turn, its time to head back into the shop. Oh it feels good to fire up the torch again.

    Been awhile.

    Here's a restoration job I'm working on. It's 17 years old!

And another repair that will take a bit more work than usual:

A couple of shots of the new workshop still in process:

A few images from the last two weeks. Two ti bikes, a steel bike, a fork, and few ride photos for good measure.

Some tools to miter stays on the lathe. I'm tired especially of mitering seatstays on the mill. Now, it's nothing but slapping the fixture on the toolpost and hittin' the "GO!" button - or lever as in this case.

Taking an order in the middle of cross season and getting it done in time for the last couple of races was kind of a push but man this one turned out. It's a rocket!

It was a happy meeting between Cane Creek direct curve brakes and my stay treatment. I like the look.

For the record, It's a FBSSCCX bike with black cats that allow him to run 1x10 which is how it's set up now.
