    Default Aerodynamic dimpling.

    So there's dimpling on everything.

    Wheels.
    Clothing.
    Helmets. etc.

Why do I not see this applied to cars.

Maybe its put on F1 cars (I really don't know) and I wouldn't expect to see it on a Smart Car but it seems like it might be a rad application for companies that are interested in furthering MPG or doing crazy fun shit.

Tesla comes to mind. Maybe that honda CR-Z or whatever its called.

Are the gains so minimal when it comes to non-HPVs that its doesn't make financial sense to apply that idea to motor-driven vehicles?

Wait for a hail storm, collect the insurance money, don't fix the car and buy a new set of carbon wheels.

I wonder if dimpling tires would work?
    Good cyclists are:
Visible, Predictable, Alert, Assertive and Courteous

They also use the five layers of protection available.
    Layer 1: Control your bike
Layer 2: Know and follow the rules of the road
Layer 3: Ride in the smartest lane position
    Layer 4: Manage hazards skillfully
    Layer 5: Utilize passive protection.

My wife's 2010 VW GTI has a dimpled plastic undertray that covers most of the otherwise rough and un-aerodynamic underside of the car. Imwas kinda impressed the first time I noticed it.
