Pasting the BBCode direct, with the 1028x (large) option:
cat slave labor by Cody Wms, on Flickr
Found the problem hiding in plain sight. When you use the add photos icon, then drop in the URL there's a tiny check box that asks if you want to retrieve the file and reference locally. The default is checked which, for me produces a complaint about file size. Unchecking that box let you drop the image directly from your image hosting site...just as you describe.
Thanks again
Nice work gents. I'm moving this thread to Wiki.
*Note - a good place to put ride pics would be in the weekend ride threads that folks start on fridays

Great shot Brian. That works nice eh? VSalon salutes you. Offsite image storage is the new black and white.

this is not exactly posting pictures, but wanted to see if my picture on my avatar worked. Delete if not appropriate. (It didn't work. TT if you read this can you send me an email. I tried to change but maybe the file is too big...) Then delete this post...

Are we able to post pics from Google Drive? I've tried the shareable link and also the imbedded code and it won't show up. ??

I don't think it will work. Google Drive is cloud storage, not a photo hosting site, so it likely won't provide a direct link to a specific image file that the VSalon software needs to embed the photo. I use Flickr, which makes it nice and easy to share.
