Late summer at the Spectrum House. It's a tradition:

thus replaced the12 year temporary set up
    Proper job only here
another week closer to building the steam loco workshop extension, and the bench/drawers will be red in there!
and the most beautiful thing in the world, a Myford 254 (metric) in pristine condition will be in there.

I really like how this came out.

But then again, I like blue.

There's still a bit of buffing compound here and there, but you get the idea.

I haven't been posting much lately but I've been getting lots of work done. Lots of Cervelos too.
Troy from Brooklyn also sent us his first (so he says) frame. We did a bit of clean-up on it but it looked pretty good.

    @02136 this week...

Fun cross collab in the works. Jamie calls it smexy (smart but sexy)... I call it "time-consuming" (but worth every second)... Kevin wants to call it his girlfriend (but he knows better)....

One of the framesets shipped out this week: a sweet XCr Di2 frameset to our Taiwan dealer...

We also got a new bad-ass dust collector:

...and Cappy the snapping turtle just keeps getting bigger.

    Cheers all!

    To another great week.

See you at the (X) races!

Hi. My name is Tony and I used to build bicycle frames. Please remove the used to.

After an embarrassingly long hiatus, I am now building and painting again from my new shop. 10 Nate Whipple Highway, Cumberland Rhode Island

I will be at the Builder's Ball Friday night in Providence. Come say hello.

I have been looking into manufacturing custom dropouts for bonding into carbon frames. I came across a company doing Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) in 6/4 Titanium. They essentially build parts in fine layers by fusing titanium powder with a laser in an inert chamber. It produces a part that has the mechanical properties of normal 6/4 Titanium and is being used to build jet engine compressor blades. I use a lot of rapid prototype parts at work in glass and carbon filled nylon. I was hoping the Ti DMLS would be less than an order of magnitude more expensive. I was unfortunately very wrong. Quote came back at $2021 for one piece shown below. Back to the drawing board...
