These were awesome. When we were kids we used jarred spaghetti sauce and a square of American cheese ( which still is perfectly excellent food to consume while drinking), but this was better.

These eggplants continue to be so amazing. I'd do something more complicated but the lovely sweet quality of the slightly caramelized eggplant is just too nice to hide with other flavors. Especially the Rosa Biancas.

Made some burgers last night, and then threw a peach onto the grill for dessert with some ice cream. So good.

5 ingredient fix: sausage, broccoli rabe, bucatini, parmesan, pepper flakes.

I took the day off, I need to ship some toys off that I sold...so I can buy more toys but, in the spirit of multitasking I'm going to smoke some lamb shanks for a mushroom ragu I'll be assembling later...now, I place a water pan in the Weber when smoking, I was thinking of placing my tomatoes and wine in the pan under the shanks instead...think it'll work or is that smoky overkill?

Awesome... try that with broccolini and hit it with some Saba on the plate.

Oil and salt, of course, but I sort of (salt for sure) don't really consider them to be ingredients ;)

    Nice.
I'm going to surprise Mrs. Too Tall with her fav. cauliflour souffle this eve. The girl is nuts for it.
On a very sad note the stinking deer, after all these years, found my veg. / rose garden which is behind a 4 1/2' fence. They devastated the tomatoes and topped my jalapeno plants AND topped my rose bushes. WTAF?

    Need venison recipes.

Sad news indeed! 6' of fine netting and fox urine in the little containers they sell in garden centers circling the garden seems to be the deterrence trick around here.

I find braised in a good red wine with a lot of aromatics the best place to start with venison.

TT...you need an 8' or higher fence to keep Bambi and her mother out of your garden...electrified fencing can be lower. I use this spray for decorative plants like rhododendron, holly and lilies and it's pretty good. No go on edible plants though. I see an NFS version coming soon to a store near me...

Made Momofuku pork buns (baos) and Sean Brock's Heirloom tomatoes with plums goat cheese and arugula pesto. both recipes with creative liberties

    Momofuku buns were:
Pork belly, roasted high heat while turning and basting, then lowered to render fat
buns left to rise for 2 hours in three stages then steamed. fat in buns came from pork belly
quick pickled cukes and jalapeños in a rice vinegar, mirin sugar, cilantro and garlic brine
    scallions
    hoisin

    Salad deally was:
Heirloom tomato wedges topped with diced toms, sliced plum, arugula cashew romano pesto, arugula and goat cheese. then drizzled with olive oil and balsamic salt pepper blah blah blah

    would eat again
Cottage cheese for dinner, Greek yogurt for dessert, eat that everyday an' it will make your butt hurt.
