They made nice medium format cameras mostly at the end.

Sadly, Contax is long gone—Yashika shut it down in 2005. Not sure of the back story.

Funny you should mention Contax, because I just sold a G2 kit. I was hoping that someone would produce an adapter to allow the use of the lenses in autofocus mode, but that doesn't seem likely to happen. Those lenses are still some of the finest ever made. Sold an RTS III several years ago, and am glad I did. It needed service, and I spoke with the folks at ToCAD America who is licensed to repair Contax cameras and they are eventually going to run out of spare parts (supposedly they expect parts to service the G series will run out in 2015).
