I love the perforated racing straps, my very favorite is the Omega made strap with curved ends that hug the watch. I need to take my Speedy off the bracelet and put it back on this strap (usually do that for the summers, so it's time). I just love it.

Too Tall, I get the sense that we have similar tastes in watches. Sorry about the crappy pic everyone.

Good call on that strap. Yes indeed we do.

Flip the schedule! Leather straps during the cold winter and metal bracelets during the summer.
This is so the leather doesn't get wet/sweaty and smell like a disgusting rancid swamp.
Bracelets can be rinsed under tepid water and returned to perfectly clean in about 20 seconds!

Yeah, I know, overall I do just that, but the perforated safari and race straps seem "tropical" to me. Shell cordovan straps get less use in summer, but I always go back to my Omega race when it gets warm.

Cheers to all for the Maratac suggestions. Not that they need further pimping, but...

NATO in gray for the SA. My riding watch.

ZULU in drab for the W1 - the olive nicely contrasts the stainless and complements the rust in my freckles. Much lighter than w/the stainless band. Me like.

Saw those the other day. Part of me hates them. Part doesn't.

i rock the deployant-clasped rubber strap on my divers. so far i've had black, blue, red, and orange. the red and orange fade rather quickly if one is out-of-doors as much as i.

ARRight, changed my mind. ready to go g-10 with my divers.

so now, in my one single chance to be fashionista-istic, help me choose colors.

i have a pepsi and orange (see above) navy blue dial with red and blue bezel. i'm thinkin' blue or red or stripes of such.

and the orange face w/ black bezel. orange, black, tan, any neutral color with orange highlight.

mehopes that if i go with the brighter colors, they won't fade so quickly as the rubber straps do. i've faded red, orange, and blue already. do the nylons fade much? looking for more durability than silicone rubber offers.

on track (wrt colours) or just iggy no rant?

btw/aside: some folks associated the orange w/ college football. that's not me. i associate it with historic divers/visibility, cool bicycles, and prison road crew jumpsuits.

Black on the Orange-faced one. It'll make the orange look ORANGE.

HEY! that's exactly the strap i got. (pics later-no i mean it this time).

i was bidding on a regimental blue/red but got outbid-and found a BIN seller only two postal days away. it came today.

So far i like--and this is a 10-buck jobbie. is there a diff? What's the lifespan of these bands? rubber/deployant is great, but just won't survive what i put 'em through. they clean up easily, but fade or crack before i think they should.

I'm hip to a black or tan or tan/orange and must have a solid orange (for hunting season yo) on the other one. I need a red, but haven't seen any...for homage to RGM/SACHS (the red-faded-to-pink just doesn't cut it and was probably the ugliest strap i ever wore).

Instead of putting the stock rubber strap back on I've ordered a skunk Bond for my vacation.

hey, the stock seiko rubber is the only band i had break in the night...and they're high profile compared to the deployant-buckled rubbers. nylon is nicer than i thought it'd be. and so many color combos...

The watch straps are nice, but the watches are beautiful. Where do you find them? I've just been dealing with my heavy fossil that doesn't keep accurate time

They really change the look and feel of the watch. Plus they are cheap, so you can switch back if you get bored.

Turns out it doesn't matter what the answers are, they won't ship outside the US.

    Back to searching.

What tools do you guys use to change straps and remove links? Should I just get the cheap set off of amazon?

I have the original rubber strap on my Seiko SKX-171 (close to your model Wade). I want a different rubber strap that is more supple. I've also considered the Maratac Elite that was recommended. Any opinions?
