I think you want one of these. A new car which looks like a Chevelle Super Sport built on modern components with 1500hp.

An old lady who lived in my neighborhood growing up had a similar Mustang. Light blue. Absolutely the least sporty normal plain Mustang ever. She drove with her head barely over the steering wheel at about 5 mph under the speed limit.

Not sure about the horses for courses application for this one. If that's true, then stopping off at the deli in Concord, Mass, entails more of a drive than I realized.

Some kind of Ferrari. Driver was about 75, trying to reduce his estate taxes, no doubt.

Parked around the corner at a coffee shop was a nice Storck with Zipp 808 wheels. I'm gonna hold my comments on that one.

I tend to peek at the center console when I see a car like this, while mumbling to myself "don't be an automatic, don't be an automatic ..."

I'm guessing this one has paddles.

If you're referring to the 812, I believe the last Ferrari offered with a manual was the 2009 F430.

Yep, I don't come at this with much knowledge, just an appreciation for the tools.

My dad has been wanting one of these (from his birth year) for a long, long time. Last he told me he had resigned himself to finding a '58 instead as he just couldn't afford what he was finding, but yesterday he text me that he was in Terre Haute with "the find of a lifetime". Good for him. I'll take better pics when I visit him next. The guy he bought it from has owned it since 1965 and said it's never been wet from weather under his ownership.

Every once in a while, I’m tempted to order one or its RS6 Avant cousin.

Then I remember my personal pledge to try to lessen my environmental impact, and I put the phone down.

    True.
Also, while they’re not remotely in my price range, I also wonder how all the tech in new cars is going to hold up over time. We tend to keep our cars for a while, and I could see these modern ones being annoying after a few years.
The infotainment on our 2015 Sienna is already long in the tooth and while I wish it had Apple CarPlay, as long as the music and HDMI inputs keep working, I’m satisfied.

My friend had a RS4 tuned by Sportec in Switzerland. It put out 600 hp. The car was stupid fast and faster than a Ferrari 360 in a straight line.
