no back seat... by design. sometimes when dad wraps up a tough week and most of a weekend trucking three kids under 6 around, he wishes there was only one seat.

Does the e63 have the 3rd row seat? Or is that only the non AMG version?

No 3rd row for amg...that would be a little too practical

I believe previous gen had the option

You can't tow anything with an AMG either, same goes for RS Audis (in Europe anyway, not sure about USA).
Manufacturers assume you're in it for the glamour, so don't bother with Type Approval for towing. F'ing stupid if you ask me, considering that they make ideal tow cars for track weapons.

The s-class sedan I've been rehabbing for a year is funny that way too. I'd love it if the rear seat folded down, but there is quite a large gas tank in the way.

Now why would you want to tow something with an AMG or RS?

I'm sort of thinking that anyone who can afford an AMG vehicle probably also has a truck or Suburban or Tahoe for towing duty. I bet most AMG cars are second or third or even fourth vehicles.

I'd think any decent fab-shop could whip you up something suitable for your rack.

greatest part of handmade english sports cars...

broken wiper bolt leaves passenger side wiper inoperable
    drop at service
bolt must be ordered from uk
    takes ~2 days to arrive
    few hours to install
guy says "oh, most people with astons that need service drop them monday morning and pick them up friday afternoon". wow.

what i'd think is a 15min trip to the hardware store turns into a 4-5 day service excursion. all under warranty. british luxury products rule!

Quite a generalisation. And there are other countries besides the US, btw
The few people I know that own AMG and Audi RS wagons use them every day, as their primary do-it-all, all-weather mode of transport. None of them have another vehicle larger than it. It carries their kids, their groceries, their friends to dinner, furniture, everything.
To me the irony of AMGs and RSs not being permitted to tow is that (in the UK especially), loading your track car onto a trailer and towing it to the circuit is very popular. And most people with track cars really rather like souped-up sporty wagons. Not only that, but the paddock of a race circuit is a wonderful location for others to spot said tow-cars and consider buying a super-wagon of their own. Captive audience.
Someone should let the marketing folks know, especially when Jaguar are busy pissing about with stuff like this.

AMG will tow. I think there are two hitches available from PF Jones for this with sufficient capacity. The AMG requires a different attachment approach due to the exhaust. I just bought a Westfalia hitch for my wagon to tow my race car from them. Shipping from UK is expensive but there are no US market options.

Every time I see a C5 RS6 the driver gets a big thumbs up. Just a visceral reaction from me. Did this to a middle aged guy while riding a few weeks back. He seemed confused by it, like he was completely unaware that he was driving one of the raddest fucking cars ever made.

A bit more down to earth price-wise, I've ordered a 2015 VW GTI S with Performance Package and Lighting Package. Volkswagen has been caught off-guard with how popular the PP option has been and I must wait until June(at least) for my car to arrive. It should look like this:
