yes, the audi switchgear / electronics are unfortunate in that car ... but ohhhh that motor and that ridiculous transmission!

Well, speaking of brands that I'm afraid of, I just read a glowing review of the Volvo T6 wagon in the WSJ. The last Volvo I owned was from the late '90's. I don't think it ever went a full week when everything worked. I swore that I'd never buy another.

I say wait until they push the 4 cyl. turbo + plug-in hybrid engine into that car. I'm anxious to see the XC90 w/ their new engine. Wife's due for a new XC90.

that is such a hot recommendation, in two ways. can i assume you've spent some time in one? i did two days in a backdraft repro and, other than two hours of my time*, it was maybe the most fun i've had in a car


* returning it to NYC; late one July morning. about 88 degrees and 90% humidity. bumper to bumper traffic on the bruckner. pouring sweat. i mean POURING sweat. working the clutch. wishing the goddamn engine could idle on one cylinder just to take some of the FIRE off of the other side of the firewall. white button down shirt slowly growing transparent. wishing for any room, any speed, to get some goddamn WIND back in my face. and then just like that, the traffic cleared, i mashed the gas, and the "climate control" turned back on. cool and collected twenty minutes later. i have fond memories, still. the most laughs per mile of any car ever.

Speaking of stupid cars that I fit into...one of my teammates has a high quality extended cockpit cobra replica that is nuts in a good way. Somebody found a ton of orig. parts and it has a very hot Cleveland 351...runs like a raped ape. What a blast, just don't go around corners too hard ;)

Good call Badonkadonk, alot of these cars are non-starters for me. Legs are too long and my head to far in the clouds. I'm uncomfortable in a Corvette for instance which is why we should stick to big blocks, cloth seats and 8 track compatible ;) Oh, old Jags fit me fine.
