My first guess is that guy is not used to start from the back of the grid. No idea if he is related to sir Stirling Moss who sadly passed away yesterday.

That looks like a blast but the seeming lack of rollover protection would scare me. Unless I’m missing something.

Anyone else watch that and keep waiting to see one of those carts shoot shells or drop banana peels?

What a great track. Once he passed #25 he took it up another level!

The CG of a shifter cart is about 8 to 9.5 mm above the ground, more or less.

I recall my 80cc motocross bike went 79 mph (on a forest service road, next to a friend with a speedometer) and these are running Honda CR125 motocross engines ... pretty nuts. Just keep it above 12K!

I just bought my third defender, having sworn off them years ago. This one seems to be better sorted and better maintained than my previous two, and you know what they say about the third time...

You already have all the tools and a garage full of spare parts?

Long suffering Land Rover ownership has me well prepared: I always have a good fire extinguisher and AAA.

8 to 9.5 inches maybe? I don't think there is a human-occupied wheeled vehicle that has a CG of under 10mm...

I raced these when I was a teenager. 130mph on the big tracks. In sprint setup (shorter track) they would do 0-60 in under 3 seconds. The engines were motocross engines back in the day... around 50hp, with ~350lb weight with driver. They mostly use purpose built engines now.

There is no rollover protection (still isn't in karts like this). Think about it like a motorcycle. If an incident, the driver wants separation from the kart as much as possible. There are no seatbelts. Not that I am defending it... I wouldn't let my kids do it. It was a lot of fun... but expensive... two broken collarbones aren't cheap.

I'd like one of these, but not right now maybe. Kind of a classic story.

The website of the dealer shows some nice cars that have sold in the past. And a nice 1974 Land Rover that is in "time warp" condition for eu22K.

I had an almost identical one (Land Rover 88) same colour but first registered in 1976. I re-built it on to a new galvanised steel chassis (as you know the original painted steel chassis does not last). By the time I had finished most of it seemed to be brand new Land Rover official spare parts apart from the engine and bodywork. I taught myself to weld aluminium to patch parts of the body. I finished it in 1994 and drove it for about 10 years. Eventually the constant maintenance to keep it roadworthy wore me out and I sold it to a friend for 2 cases of claret.

Been slowing working on this when I have a little free time. And hunting down different trim pieces and small parts.

Spend this past weekend removing all the molding and getting it ready for paint. Shaving the side molding but keeping the lower stainless trim. It's also getting a fresh vinyl top.

In season 3 of the Grand Tour they do an episode on Jaaaggs. Its quite funny - Jaguar owners are portrayed as a more sophisticated and debonair version of the guy from North Jersey selling stereos out the trunk of his car...
