I'm a fall/winter guy myself. Spring is a time to put away some of my favorite fabrics; heavy tweeds and wools.

But it is also time to up your khaki game. A good slim or straight cut, something with a timeless look. American companies do it best, and for cheap. Think Levis, J Crew, and yes, even Dockers has gone back to well-fitting cuts.

Spring is also a time to introduce a bit of color in your daily attire. Colored denims are a good choice. I like khaki, brown, navy, and even salmon (if everything else is grounded).

I recently bought two pair of Levis 511 pants; khaki and a grey/navy. Durable and a good fit. Easily paired with most colors.

As for shoes, spring is about a simple, low cut. Loafers, boat shoes, bucks, or a sneakers. Again, its a time for color.

A clean pair of white Chuck Taylors or Stan Smiths is a great way to dress down anything you wear with a jacket.

Roll up the pants, skip the socks, and show off a bit of ankle.

Raw japanese denim is a thing to behold. Sure, its got crazy rules; like instead of machine washing it, you have to soak it in a tub and let it dry on your body. But if we don't take at least some of it from them, then the whole place is going to wind up looking like this.

Guitar Wolf rules, btw. Saw them in Memphis 10 days before Bass Wolf died. RIP. One of the best shows EVER.

aren't most of the Japanese denim weaves US exports? i think the Japanese purchased them when US manufacturers were taking them off line in the 70s.

this sound right to anyone else?

Originals are great and Bullards if you have the nerve.
I've only one complaint. The pockets are tacked a bit high however that is the design and these pants went to war.

Check out Sheplers for Jeans. They have it all including Levi shrink to fit and yeah that should satisfy your need for something that needs a little lovin' to be just right. I've been wearing shirnk to fit since I was only 9 feet tall.

Its a casual shoe, so the suits must be worn in a casual fashion. Loosen the tie or don't even bother wearing one. Roll the legs of the jeans or cotton trousers. Skip the socks and show some ankle.
