    Default Bike Related-An Anti-Superbowl Party?

Anyone here attended an "Anti-Superbowl" party?

For years I'd been thinking of organizing such an event that would be cycling related.

I'd hold it at a bike shop. Since it's winter in CT, the shop would likely be closed on Sunday, which means plenty of space.

    Maybe make it potluck.

Hold a spin/trainer class, although showers afterward wouldn't be available.

Rent a big screen TV and play some bike racing videos.

Maybe charge admission and donate the profits to charity.

It could be a combination or variation of any of the above. Yeah; there would be some logistical problems to be solved, but I think it's doable.

I don't watch football and thought an event like this could grab a hold. Every year I wait until the last minute to stew over this.

Comments? Suggestions? Would I be investigated by the Feds for my lack of patriotism?

We're having a superbowl part here. We like watching doped athletes in TV. Oh wait, never mind....

I love cycling. But my family is a Packer family and I can remember watching them on a B&W tv with a rotary dial.

Riding later this morning but the rest of the day belongs to the Packers for me!

Everything has a time and a place. To celebrate with an "anti" anything theme will just bring negativity into your life. Take what's there for what it is and enjoy it.

Should be a great game. Steelers's gonna smoke 'em though.

I will enjoy this Americana event.

To each his own though, and enjoy your freedom of choice!

I sure hope they do. Vegas is paying 2-1 on Steelers minus 3.5. That was too compelling to pass up.

As to the anti-superbowl party, sorry that just doesn't sound like fun at all and I'm not even much of a football fan.

+1 The spinning/training winter get together sounds like fun though.

I'm usually pacing too much during championship games anyway, whether it's hockey or football. It would be nice to go for another ride, but the game is in the evening, so we're headed to a neighborhood party here in the 'Burgh...it will be nuts. Even the woman lector at church this morning was wearing a Terrible Towel skirt. I'm sure it's just as crazy at Packers' parties.

Football baby! I love me some Superbowl, even if my Colts aren't playing today... I don't get into many other sports, but I do love Football Americano!

The 26th Annual Super Bowl ride was canceled here in DFW today. The weather would have been good but probably some slush on the roads that are not as heavily traveled. Would have been difficult in large groups.

It is a great ride as riders start at LBSs all around DFW and meet for lunch in downtown Dallas. The ride from my LBS is about 60 miles round trip and we pick up groups from a couple other LBlSs along the way.

Best of both worlds - I'm going to ride my bike to a friend's Super Bowl party.

(I agree with Craig and also try to avoid negativity.)

Brunch with Zimmerman and then the gf has asked me to take her up one of the local climbs here.

    I consider that a party and anti-football.

I may watch the game, but will certainly ride today. The sun is out, the winds are light, and the mercury will hit 45.
