LOCALS: Lets hear some names of places to get the good stuff close to the convention center.
IIRC the best cup near Richmond's CC was the Starbucks in the hotel lobby. This year I'm hoping for something more local.

Try Frank a few blocks to the west - Coffee | Frank | Hot Dogs Cold Beer | Purveyors of Artisan Sausage | 4th and Colorado, Austin Texas. Despite the name, I like their coffee better than their sausage.
Or, walk a couple of blocks east to Progress Coffee - http://progresscoffee.com/menu.html. They will do you right.
Mellow Johnnys. Seriously.
cafe medici on west lynn is the place to go
frank is ok too

yeah it would be a long walk
but an easy ride if anyone is bringing bikes
and a short cab ride/drive
Medici has another location on Guadalupe next to campus. It's still not walkable from the Convention Center, but the guys there take coffee very seriously. Lorenzo has gone to barista nationals the last couple of years. I think he may even have won last year.
how's that for snappy answers? thanks.
printed already, that's a big enough chunk of austin to get us into trouble.

little city at eleventh and congress, west side of congress, is pretty ok espresso too.
Medici by campus used to be called Metro, back when I was going to UT. I spent tons of $$ and time there. What makes that place badass is the people that go in.
Dunkin Donuts.
Austin Java is solid. Try the Fog Cutter for the alcohol virus cure. Just down the street, plus they serve good food.
mozarts.
