New Concept 2 Dynamic Rowing Machine

I happened to notice that Concept 2 recently came out with a "dynamic" rowing machine. The idea is that the slide and handle are connected so that the slide moves instead of being stationary, which better simulates the feel of rowing on water.

Concept2: Dynamic Indoor Rower

The motion is similar to what you feel when you use the slides with the Model D, but unless you are an institution or have a lot of space in your house, the slides aren't very practical. The fact that the erg is only 2m long is another big plus.

I've always been curious about an erg made in Austalia called Rowperfect, which has been around for years but I've never seen one in the US. Very similar idea.

I think the story goes that he sat down, started hammering on the machine, and unofficially broke the world record, or something to that effect.
