I really don't know who to root against tonight.

I am a Washington Husky alum, and therefore biased. I'm not surprised that Oregon athletics is what it now is. What school would turn down a sugar daddy like that, even if he is a tyrant? But someone down there should grow a backbone and try to solicit some investment in the education side of the university, if only for the PR.
As for tonight, defense wins championships, and neither team is especially good on defense.

imho.
Well Oregon does have good takeaway stats. Worked for New Orleans.
But I have been to toomey's corner. I also ate the 1 pound burger and had my picture taken,. Then I ate half of my wife's chicken sandwich. But I had just ridden 60 miles on a tandem.
As for the academics part of the college football team. You need to know football in the south to understand how they feel about football. You have importtant and then you have football on a whole other level above that. There is not a TV in Alabama on any other channel in the whole state of Alabama. Although the University of Alabama fans are kind of torn who to root for.
And I think you should root FOR a football team not against another one, unless it's the Dallas Cowbays.
I will add this. I effin hate football announcers. They are about the most stupid people with nothing sensible to say. But that doesn't slow them down in the least.
bikinchris, I agree for the most part and will repeat what was said many times during the World Cup--the futbol announcers are so much better, in general, than our football announcers. And I don't think it is just because they openly critique play calling and officiating.
