WHY i hate "quick reply"!!!

i just lost another one. and it was a good one and i am so effing pissed. effing pissed. my dogs ran for cover when i realized what had happened and started the cussing.

while i really do prefer vbulletin to any other forum software, i effing hate some of the features of the latest versions.

If you're in the "quick reply" window (taken there automagically because you wish to "reply with quote") and then (after carefully composing a neat bit for others to read) for some dumbass reason, you bump the "reply to thread" button which is a semi-natural thing to do as it is how you've posted thousands upon thousands of messages all over the web and you may still be thinking about your composition etc...

there ain't no "back" for forward or side step that recovers it. (unlike this window).

eff me. I had humorously explained galvanic corrosion, metals which join and don't, and the fallacy of friction welding in my reply (with gd quote) to the "steel+ti" frame thread of late.

it was off-the-cuff chemistry and engineering and theory mixed with wittiness and a silly star trek reference.

it was a keeper.

you could just go back one page and undo (ctrl+z) and everything would be back, at least using firefox.

To ensure the safety of precious cargo, for forums and webmail --> write that bad boy in word, notepad, whateveritisthatyouusetowritecraponacomputer and then, cntrl-a, cntrl-c, mouse to new place, cntrl-v. Plus you get spelling and grammar advice. What could be better?
