T.H. Thanks for sharing. It looks great and you've perfected the leather strap loop at the back. By the way thinking this was yours the bag has been lined with lead shot. We'll get the lighter version out asap.

Cristian, these are likely slightly small for a tubular. There has been interest in a bag for this however so we are looking in to details for a new bag that would handle that. Let us know of any other thoughts or desires for this sort of thing and we'll see what we can do.

Nierman, thanks and I agree. We hired pros for this. I'm smart enough to know that I am shitty graphic designer. The first edition we received was a single line version. It was pretty good but I though it too closely resembled a Pharmacy RX sign. They came back with the double lined version and I was sold on the spot. Much more complex and allows for a variety of colo(u)r iterations.

Pricing is such a tricky thing as you know. Locally produced can rarely compete based on price alone but we have been very conscious about not pricing ourselves out of the market so soon.
With many of the listed products we have started with a handful made in house to get a sense of labour and material costs then worked in wholesale pricing while trying to keep the retail price as modest as possible.
Regarding the saddle bags, many bags out there are selling for half if not less than what we've got but we're banking on these having something special to carry us over. The margins are slim, no doubt. These bags are very complex to produce and we have spent much time working out the details and the sewers don't love making them.
Pricing for these and some of our other products will likely come up to something more sustainable but getting a foot in the door can be a good starting point. We're also set up for online and in shop sales and hope to be able to grow that side of the business as we progress. In this case current pricing is more sustainable though that sort of growth can be slow and requires much more leg work, media attention and so on.

Would love to hear more of your thoughts.

We were given a small feature in the Globe and Mail last month with a focus on our constructed planters.

This week the quarterly magazine Design Lines came out and we have been given a larger feature here. Not my favourite photo of us but the work looks good. We haven't picked up a print edition yet. It's also nice that the bike life gets some attention too.
