Bukka White. There's a great story in John Fahey's "How Bluegrass Destroyed My Life" about drinking Old Grand Dad, hallucinated drunk in the Southern heat and catching a gar fish that almost dragged Fahey though the mud. As if I hadn't loved Bukka for the music, what he did and how he's described in that story pretty well cemented him in my mind as a bad ass.

    Ardecore. I don't speak Italian, maybe I'm a cutter.

Cottage cheese for dinner, Greek yogurt for dessert, eat that everyday an' it will make your butt hurt.

In keeping secrets is such a great song. The instrumental at the end is outstanding. Love it.

The new album is pretty good too.

    Eh,

if I want high pitched voices I'll opt for the Blood Bros.

And if I want crazy hair with high pitched voices

I'm gonna go see Cedric and Omar:

The War On Drugs, from Philadelphia. Gorgeous music, droning guitars and synth, driving rhythm section, echoes of Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen.

Something for the hip hop fans, and if you're not that's okay.

this song has been in heavy rotation as of late
Falling from high places, falling through lost spaces,
Now that we're lonely, now that there's nowhere to go.

I'm not sure if I like this because I like it

or because I think she's hot.

    Regardless.
