    Default Worst holesaws ever

I remember a holesaw thread a while back, but I couldn't find it. Just thought I let y'all know, if you ever have the chance to try these, don't waste your money.

The threads aren't even close to square with the rest, and the seam pokes out making it teardrop shaped. I know some of you guys true them up on the lathe, but I think these are too far out. I bought 3, and they were all like this. Good thing I kept the receipt, bad thing is the hardware store didn't have any other kind.

Eric- Most of the wrapped and welded hole saws have out of round issues to one degree or another. I've not used too many but have seen a range of problems from the few brands I've come across. The methods of "truing" that I've done are more along the lines of hammer taps then grind/turning off.

Given that I don't trust any miter cut by a hole saw to be a finished miter. They always get at least a file touch up if not moderate correction. Hence when I use a hole saw I cut close but not at the line and finish up with a file.

Yeah, I have had pretty good luck in only needing to do minor cleanup with a file. None of them are perfect, but these particular saws are worse than most.

The Morse ones are not much better... Lennox are marginally less worse.

Starrett and Rock Hard are working for me (with the occasional reject).

I tried Morse as well, and I wasn't impressed. The Starretts have worked well for me and so have Rigids. I have yet to try the Rock Hard/Ultras that people are talking about. Those are the fine tooth saws from Missouri Tool, right?

yes, Rock Hard is Missouri Tool's name for their hole saws. They are actually some French brand, I guess the original name isn't tough enough for Missouri Tool.
