these pics have inspired me to try a massive attack with the flux next time. I won't stop adding flux till it looks like the joint needs a shave...

You may have been asked 100's of times already; but I haven't worked on a RS frame AND a small one.
Why the cable adjusters on the HT? They do work very well on 53-54^ frames, IMHE always found on smaller frames the adjusters/stops too close, with consequent short cable outer (=could be stiff/problematic). Would like to hear your opinion about.

My opinion is that they are not a problem on any size atmo. Focus on the casing lengths,
or where they exit the handlebars, or both. Most bicycles I see pics of have way too little
casing anyway. Okay - must get back to the shop now. Thanks.

    Hey Richard,

I was just wondering what your thoughts are with regard to brazing with brass versus silver? Is there really any advantage to using silver?

I learned "on brass" and using those HUGE torches and flames we still see in old pictures. I like brass better still. But I self-taught myself silver brazing (56 percent) by about 1978 and have stayed there. My procedure is still brass-like in that I use long, loud, big flames that many would consider to have too much heat and volume.

The only advantage a brazer has is skill and control; the filler material is of little consequence atmo.

More personal question. Why tassel loafers vs penny, black vs burgundy? Was it a Peddie habit?

Good question atmo. In retrospect, everything in my life is a Peddie School habit. My guess is that the shoe style (the tassels
and color) was selected based on choosing the margins over the mainstream. The fashions may have changed, but I haven't.
