    Default XCR Availability

    Hey Crew,

I am in the market to pick up an XCr tubeset and Nova seems to still be out. I know Columbus is coming out with more options and more sizes. Anyone here in the "know"?

    Thanks.

I've gotten XCr from Nova and Bringheli. Joe's came with oval CSs and an aluminum ST shim to 27.2. Nova's came with round CSs and no shim. For some reason Joe's had a nicer finish and I think I payed $550. Give me a shout if you have any XCr building questions.

Thanks Joel. Interesting about the different chain stays. I've built a few with it and have the whole purging setup for TIG. I'll give Joe a shout to see if he has anymore. Nova has been out of stock for all of 2010 though.

I am awaiting updates from Columbus
for the Cadenzia XL size XCr lugged sets (I hate the double over size term)
and the OS size XCr lugged set

I know that the supply of raw material for drawing the XCr tubes is difficult and there is shortages and this hold up supply to us . Sigh
I will let you all know when I have some answers.

I can't wait to try this tubing on a set of Dazza's lugs. It'll be pure and it'll be stiff.

    Oh yeah.

The XCr track bike I had at NAHBS is the stiffest steal bike I've ever ridden. The MAX fork doesn't help either.

Bit of drift, Ceeway is great. They are absolutely competitive with anybody in the U.S. and shipping time is very reasonable, especially if you are on the east coast (5 - 7 business days). They'd be worth checking out, Anthony.

They ship air- it doesn't take any longer to get to the West coast. I do a fair amount of business with Peter.

+1 x 10 ......If you buy from Peter...depending on your bank...use a credit card, not a cash card, especially if you bank with Wells Fargo...they charge a "currency exchange fee" on all cash card transactions...but not on credit card transactions. Also for smaller or light weight orders, he ships Royal Mail...it sometimes takes a couple of days longer, but shipping is very reasonable.
