    Default Back to school...

Each year I try to give a little back to the community that has brought me such enjoyment. I was pleased to have Steve and Kirsten Hollingsworth in the shop with me this week.

As a person who does repairs of carbon frames everyday, I can appreciate how much work that is. Nice job! Do you charge in cases like this?

    Kevin,

In this case, the customer has 4 of my bikes and one more scheduled on the build list, so this repair was completed at my expense. The time invested is well worth the good will it builds in the relationship.

"Man, I heard you broke your Groovy."
"Yeah, but Rody totally took care of it, I should have it back before the weekend."
"Cool, when I broke my Trek the shop said I voided the warranty when I put those Specialized grips on it. So I'm bikeless right now."
    "You want Rody's number?"
    "Hell yeah!"

Dunno Eric, given how far behind I am right now you may be able to swim to China and back with a frame faster

Thanks for the nice thought though,

    Default Thanks!

Thanks Johnathan, nice to know that folks are actually reading some of the drivel I put out there

Seriously though, given the current opportunities for internet "learning", I try hard to put out some stuff that I think others can use. Takes a lot of time and you sometimes wonder if any of it is really benefiting the community.

    cheers,
