This one's history. If you're interested in the Jim Clark Indy car this is a tribute to, look at this video

Also, this is a Leader frame my client bought and provided. Wheels are older Zipps.

Painting is interesting, and it's been said a good painter is one who can fix mistakes. By my standards this one reached the point where it needed to be taken back to the start. I took the opportunity to clarify and recut my masks, work out the pearl a bit differently, and hopefully not have the same issues. It's a lot of work, and holding the paint gun is a very small part of being a painter. I'm back now where I want to be, white pearls on and locked down, we'll see what we get.

It's a wrap on this one. Maybe some photos in the sun in a few days... bit of snow on the way again.

Hey Craig if it were possible to marry a bicycle paint job, I'd marry that one. I keep trying to chip my Colnago so you can repaint it PR99 for me!

Thanks Christian, this one has some good metal and pearl down in it. I'm waiting for the sun so we can see it. Until you're ready I'll just keep plugging away in my little corner of Hoosier land.

Lots of talk about photo setups and such in another thread. Makes me leery, at what point do you stop and say "Wait a minute, I'm using the clone tool." When you can see the fuzz from the rag, or smears of polish it's closer to reality. I've got ps6, lights, backdrop, all that shit, but 99% of my photos come off my iphone5 through photo stream into iPhoto. A crop and exposure balance is all I'm willing to give them. I also have a little Nikon1 with a true 50 I get out when I want to try for something nice, but I've always liked the shots builders and painters take of the bike sitting outside in the snowbank, or propped up on the edge of a wall. Here's this one out in the winter sun, warts and all.

Not a sunny day, but it was bright. I think the pearl will come out much better in the sun.
