The Tourbillion is not about looks or even accuracy when worn on the wrist. It's the pinnacle of the watchmaker's art.

I agree about the "art" part.

YES!!! That's nuts, in a good way. FWIIW they also perform ordinary maintenance for any sort of watch at reasonable rates and turn around.

Nomos Glashütte Ludwig automatic. I've long admired the Bauhaus look from Nomos so when this popped up for a great price I couldn't resist. All of the Nomos movements are in-house and adjusted to 6 positions; this one uses their 'Epsilon'. While the industry standard for adjustment is 5 positions there are 4 companies which routinely adjust their watches to 6 positions, the other 3 being Patek, JLC and Grand Seiko.

It's not the easiest watch to photograph since Nomos doesn't use any anti-reflective coating.

I've got a hankering for a new watch!

I foolishly passed on an opportunity to pick up one of the new 'Gen-3' MKII Paradives at a greatly reduced rate about a year ago. Regret it, though as much of a Seiko fanatic as you all know me to be I am a little disappointed Bill went from ETA to the Seiko movement (I understand why). May still get one of those.

"Blue Lagoon" Turtle is also on the short list, so is the "62mas" reissue. Still absolutely in love with the Tudor Pelagos 2-liner but not willing to spend that kind of coin right now. But maybe it's time to try something other than a diver...always loved the Stowa Flieger. Hmmmmmm...

A few weeks ago I passed into my 30th year and along with the gift I got myself (a Mercredi frame) I ended up inheriting a pretty fine timepiece - a 1939 Bubbleback Rolex, originally gifted to my late father on his 30th. Pictures forthcoming, but now I have to figure out when, like ever, I'll actually have the balls to wear it. The only request it came with was that I don't wear it while riding...

That's really cool. My brother and I have inherited a couple of watches - a mid-'60s Seamaster and a late '60s Speedmaster. The sentimental value makes them completely irreplaceable. As such we don't wear them often, usually just to things like weddings, and never ever while cycling or doing any kind of manual labor. That's what my Seiko is for. If I crashed on one of these watches I would never forgive myself.

Matt, are you looking for another Tudor to go with your Black Bay Diver? The new GMT looks pretty darn awesome.

That being said the updated steel Rolex GMT with jubilee bracelet looks amazing too.

Either way this Baselworld is already making me drool.

Yeah, I was pretty stoked about the Tudor GMT when I saw it this morning. I look forward to seeing the Rolex on jubilee in person. I’m not sure I like it but will probably love it when I can try it on.

i personally just dont dig jubilee bracelets. they dont do anything for me. give me a good old oyster any day. i also hope they re-release a "coke" bezel - to my eye that was my favorite GMT design.

I have been digging the beads of rice bracelets lately and this is similar enough in my mind. That being said classic oyster is great too.

New to me. 44mm, 1000m depth, titanium case, eta movement. Looks totally daft on my tiny weak wrist, but I have been looking for one for years, and struck gold with a slightly risky eBay purchase
