My wrist is 50mm across. So 36mm is a good thing.
I know not everyone is a Rolex fan, but if you are, this one is kind of a big deal. An updated stainless Daytona. I think there's been speculation about this watch coming out for a few years and it finally did.
More here on Hodinkee, who has been doing a great job with coverage. Introducing: The New Rolex Daytona, Now With Black Cerachrom Bezel

O.MG., that, that is awesome.
I haven't been going the sites showing the new stuff lately, so I'm beind.
Probably a good thing. Trying to keep in budget. Local jewler still has a big sale going. Resisting so far, but checking watch sites
would do me in.
Matt, even that Rolex pic above has me thinking," I wonder if they still have that Ball watch I looked at in the store".
Thanks for posting it, it's badass.
Stopped in the jeweler on the island and they have Omegas on sale 30% off... maybe I need a seamaster? Although their 30% off is online with going rate elsewhere.

That Rolex. Hubba hubba.

Ugh. I'm going down the Tudor rabbit hole. Started out wanting a Black Bay Black, but they're currently unobtanium, and the ref has changed since they're going with a manufacture movement. Now looking at vintage Tudor Subs.
Want. Badly.
based on my instagram feed, grey coming in strong this year.

Nice Daytona, I would not mind of of these.
Yep, I've seen a few too. Rolex tweaked the Yacht-Master for this year with a new dial that is grey with subtle blue markers. And Zenith released another beautiful variation of the El Primero chrono, which happens to be one of my favorite watches.
They're going to be pretty tough to come by, I expect. I wouldn't be surprised if it also bumps the value of the now outgoing "classic" steel Daytona.
Oh, and I somehow missed this new Patek until this morning. It's pretty casual. Grande Sonnerie, minute repeater, perpetual calendar, twin-time, moon phase, double-face...a nice everyday watch.
More here at Hodinkee and here at Patek's site.

it is NUTS that they took that movement and made it more "casual"/ "daily wear". that tells me demand was high enough to justify it.
-Dustin
The demand was huge. Well, huge relative to the six that were made and sold to customers. The list of people who want and can afford that watch exceeds the number Patek can make even if the total numbers are very small in the sense of a production run. They'll make very few of them and they'll sell each and every one.

and most will go to Dubai.

Some thoughts.
Tudor black bay 36--very nice. Would be awesome on a NATO. Still not sure if I'd choose it over the Heritage Ranger.
Tudor Black Bay PVD--wonder how well the PVD will hold up.
Rolex "New" Daytona--the white dial is much better. Still like the older model more.
Have you guys seen Ressence watches? Ressence They're pretty eff'in cool
And, I wish I could afford a A. Lange Sohne.
I think you'd be making the right choice with the Ranger unless you like a small watch. My source says the Black Bay 36 looked great, but on the wrist it was very small. Maybe too small.
I was not a fan of the rose gold Daytonas with ceramic bezel, but I think the steel one will be nice. I'm looking forward to seeing it side by side with a classic version when they start showing up at ADs. That may take a while.
A word of warning with the A. Lange & Sohne. Whatever you do, don't try one on. You'll start plotting ways to convince the significant other a second mortgage is a practical way to buy a watch. I tried this on once while on vacation (why the sales person let me is still a mystery). Insanity.

Ressence is a mind blower for me for sure.
Finally saw some AL&S while in Vegas this last go around. Instead of trying those on, I tried on an IWC Miramar fleiger. i don't think i could have made a wrong choice, either way. one of these days i'm just gonna sell my bike and buy a watch.
