    Default Bending fork crown shoulder

After brazing the steerer to the fork crown (this one), I noticed that one of the fork crown's shoulders seemed to be slightly bent. I confirmed my suspicion when trying to fit the pieces of the fork into my fixture. The blade on the bent side splays out from the centerline more than normal. I would rather not braze up the fork as is with the built-in stress.

Anyone ever try to bend a shoulder of a fork crown? Any tips? I ordered a replacement crown and steerer just in case, but I'm game to try to align the existing crown.

Nick - the fit within the pockets should have enough wiggle room to allow the blades to send their lengths to the axle area despite the small detour taken as they exit the crown. I'm not endorsing the part in question, only mentioning that a degree of self-corrections are part of the larger game.

Thanks Richard. I enlarged part of the pocket to get the blade closer to where it needs to go but the fit got sloppy. I could probably braze it with bronze if needed, but it's a fork and I'd rather not run the risk.

If you can, please post a picture that shows the crown splay. I'd be interested to see what you are seeing.
