I agree.
^ Cipo?
I randomly happened to catch that interview last night. Rendell was is rare form: the wussification of America, the Nanny State, etc. I wonder if CNBC will post the whole interview...
In Green Bay they celebrate blizzards during Packer season.
It’s all about the concessions. The tickets have been sold, but if you figure 75K people spending $20/each, and 1 car for every 4 folks spending another $25 to park, that’s (conservatively) a minimum of $2M in game-day revenues at risk.
Plus, do you really trust Philly fans to refrain from pelting Favre and Peterson with snowballs for 3 solid hours?

Blink, blink. Why yeeeees indeed. Yes in deed.
There is no crying in baseball and you DON'T call a football game for weather.
That's all I've got.

Was it that bad in Philly Sunday night (I'm too lazy to look it up)? If it was, Rendell is an idiot. I'm sure the cops would love to have 75000 people trying to get into the stadium in the storm, have to haul however many back to the hospitals in the storm because they got cold, drunk or had a heart attack, and then four hours later with four hours of more snow on the road have the survivors head home again half in the bag. How many people would be howling for someone's head when some fat loser had too many and died in an ambulance because it was stuck in the tangle of abandoned vehicles? The gov is supposed to be thinking of the public good, not whether he can watch the game while having a few.
It's a fucking game. It's entertainment. Maybe we need, as a society, to learn to defer our gratification. It isn't wussification, we have become a nation of spoiled fifteen year olds. If we can't think intelligently for ourselves as a nation, maybe somebody does need to do it for us until we learn how.

I'm with you.
Besides, the tv revenues probably are worth much more than what is earned by lardos stuffing themselves with ball park plumpers.
I beg to differ because:
2012-2013 Cyclocross Nationals Awarded to Madison, Event Moved to January
Footall in snow? Sure. But getting to and from the game was the problem, not playing it. So the state police were telling people to stay off the roads (it was a storm with most of the snow that fell this year) and the guvna was telling them they should have gone to the game. Shouldn't the guvna be on the same page as his state police?
