A war movie, continental style: Rome, Open City - Rossellini. Think Life is Beautiful but without the candy-coating. It is the first in a trilogy but I've not seen the rest yet.
Dead Man and The Proposition should be added to the westerns category. Or is there a kind of western category?

OK, I'm kidding. I saw it (yes, all of it) in a movie theater. Not sure it would work at home, where it's much easier to bail on the movie.
Prior to "Casque d'Or," which is the current disc I have from Netflix, I had "Le Samourai." Both very good options, if you're into French movies.

When Pike says "Let's Go" , we'd all say Why Not, there's a little bit of the Wild Bunch in most of this motley crew.
Silverado is missing as well, and for fans of Harvey Keitel "Imaginary Crimes" is hard to beat.
Asian/Martial Arts Films, "The Man from Nowhere" and "Red Belt" are a couple favorites and worth a look.
