Default Cycling through the Trump years.

Just wondering if I missed an executive order this morning. Got honked of the road on a small country road and passed way too close.
Don't know if it is part of the emboldenment (is that even a word?) of ***holes we see in the last month.
Not under the impression that we're part of the trillion dollar infrastructure investment.
    What y'all think?

He's been president now for 47 hours 25 minutes and 52 seconds as I write this. The roads in Minnesota still suck. Thanks Trump!

I think solid gold will replace hi-vis yellow. Maybe jerseys that say "Hey! I'm firing myself. I'm getting myself off the road!"

Speaking of clothes, I hope KellyAnne Conway's inaugural costume wasn't a preview of the uniform we're gonna have to wear...

Riding a bicycle ain't subversive. With a little hard work we can make it downright revolutionary.

My ride today was just like all the ones before Friday. I guess if you're looking to be offended or feel persecuted, you'll feel offended and persecuted. I'd like to stay hopeful.

That's just the professional white dude privilege talking, give it time and we'll feel as shitty as everyone else.
This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the bike.

    EMOTICON!!! Dewd.
All kidding aside, there are a few things I hold sacred. Family, friends, good food, the peace which this sport brings to my life.
We are surrounded by humanity. Some good some bad. If you are feeling poorly than come for a ride with me my brother, I'll make d@mn sure you have a good time.
Feel free to vent but be warned, casting dispersion over cycling WHICH IS OUR CHOOSEN intoxicant will only lead to me and others kicking your ass until you smile again.
If that does not work I've got gardens that need weeding, the pay is meger but you won't be hassled all day long.

More likely someone texting. Non-partisan affliction. Almost got bumped while walking down the sidewalk by a guy pulling out of a basement parking garage, one hand on the wheel and one hand & both eyes on his iPhone. He could have been in the middle of outer space at that moment. He certainly wasn't present and aware enough to be driving, let alone pulling out of a tunnel across a crowded sidewalk.

    What y'all think?
The weekend after the election, I was harassed by two different pickup trucks on consecutive days while riding in the area where the Tour of the Battenkill is held. On Saturday, a big black pickup was rolling coal while blocking traffic on a major two lane road (He was going about 25 in a 50 zone on Rte. 67 with 3-4 cars stuck behind him as his truck belched black smoke from pipes behind the cab). As I approached from the other direction, he accelerated AT me, while crossing the yellow line, blasting his horn, and belching out a big cloud of black smoke just as he got to me, before he swerved back into his lane. No joke, he had two flags flying in the bed -- an American Flag, and a black and red Klan flag.

The next day, while passing through a small city/town in the same area, while on a pretty empty city road, another black pick-up truck adorned with "Make America Great" stickers got behind me, rev'd his engine, then loudly accelerated as he intentionally came with inches of me.

In answer to your question, the prevailing view in Dumbfuckistan appears to be that if you're on a bike in Lycra, you must be a liberal who is fair game.
