Cool, Mine consisted of a paperclip and rubber band!
As impressive as the dedication and detail is the fact that he had a dream and pursued it. He taught himself the skills he needed as he went along to solve the problems he faced. The very definition of a life long learner.
And, it's beautiful.
His stuff is rad- I saw some at the craftsmanship museum in Carlsbad.
He made this in three sections (just like the real sub assemblies). Made from Home Depot roof flashing and bits of wire.

Very impressive. Requires a steady hand and really good eyesite, to say the least.

Stunning. Nothing but respect for the level of skill (and, as a retired Navy pilot...applause for his choice in the Corsair).
Not too sure if this is the guy but apparently he is a retired dentist. It will explain the extremely intricate drill work !!! Still, truly amazing detail work and skills.
