"skyline.." --- ahhh the memories come back..
just in from hot/humid ride.. couple icy woodchucks.. tammy made a big serving dish of "skyline" over whole wheat pasta, along with fresh veggies/herbs from her garden..
"skyline" chili hand crafted from the same secret recipe of a early cincinnati oh greek immigrant, some say the secret is the chocolate and cinnamon, but sure brings back memories from yesteryear..
so damn goooood.. i remember the "skyline" chili parlors overlooking the cincinnati skyline --- namesake.. damn great coney dogs with the shredded cheddar, too..
i grew up with the "steak & shake" chili triple way -- remember the hot pepper sauce in the clear bottle at each table and the heavy "break-yo-arm" coffee cups.. the "gay dans" coney dogs chili parlor right behind victory field naptown indians too..
"skyline" not up boston way or out west, but do you have a favorite chili parlor or coney dog joint your way..
just like to know so tammy/ronnie can hit a few as we travel when i really pull the plug..
thanx with a smile,
ronnie

Tough to beat Skyline......none in NC but I'm at KY speedway this weekend and the hotel is close to the cinci airport = Skyline 5 way
My wife has also come up with a Skyline recipe that tastes authentic. I believe it is the chocolate......sounds weird, tastes great!

I've used cocoa powder in chili and spaghetti sauce for a while. Key is not using too much.

Ron- its hard for a Texan to admit there is anything good in Oklahoma but this is the truth. Best Hamburger and Chili parlor is not the Chili Parlor Bar in Austin Tx, made famous by Guy Clarkes "Dublin Blues" tune.....
Wish I was in Austin,
In the chili parlor bar.
drinkinf mad dog margaritas,
And not caring where you are.
But its in Tulsa, Ok. Ron's Hamburgers and Chili.
Welcome to Ron's Hamburgers and Chili

Same here. I'm going back to Cincy later this summer and I'm going to eat so much Skyline that my arteries will be full of Skyline in addition to the entirety of my GI tract.

Love Guy Clarke, love that song, and made a pilgrimage to the Texas Chili Parlor during NABHS Austin. Great times.

Harris Teeter has it in the frozen section. Next to the White Castle burgers.
But not as good.
At one point in the 80's (?) there were some Skyline franchises in the Greensboro area but they disapeared and never returned.
