    I know we're out (t)here.

Who has a degree or two totally unrelated/irrelevant to your line of work? Sure, there's a lot of generic general studies-type stuff in every undergrad degree (math, english, philosophy, psychology, economics, etc) that's easily applied (inherent in actually) and relevant to anything one might do, but well, here's an example.

Howard Cosell* (i barely remember) made a living as a sports announcer. He had a law degree.

    next.

My career used to be directly related. I studied film and video production in college. After graduation I worked as lead compositor and editor for an architectural rendering firm in Boston.

Now I teach English in Japan. I minored in German, go figure. The cool thing is that I almost have my "Languages of the Axis Powers" merit badge. Italy here I come!!

    What about you?

I got a double major in French and Theater from a liberal arts college. I fly airplanes. Of course, I also had to go to school for that but flying airplanes was not on the agenda until I was in my late 20s. I fell into aviation completely randomly and almost by accident. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up.

I was a history/poli sci major- I studied modern thought for my 4-5 years of advanced schooling. I had intent on being in academia or the law but found when the rubber met the road I ended up in finance: I was broke and needed a job and banks were hiring.

I do not do anything with my degree remotely close to what I had intended.
I loved all the stuff that I learned- I really grooved on the work itself, but its applications in the real world.....well, I am still looking for an application.

    Studied Sport Science.

    Now teaching it.

    So, straight down the line.
But, this is my first shot at a career. I might yet throw it all in. Waiting for the crisis to hit.

Double major from a liberal arts college. Economics because it was practical, Philosophy because I like it. Have worked in sales/retail/customer service/management for 20+ years. Now I build wheels, but I am thinking about taking the plunge and starting an actual bike shop until someone knocks some sense into me.

I have a undergrad degree in outdoor recreation and resource management with a focus on outdoor leadership and a masters in teaching elementry education.

I teach 6th grade. Not sure what else I am qualified for, but would love to change fields!

I spent more years than I want to think about trying to stay loaded and get a degree in Marketing and Finance. The loaded won out and I ended up in construction. Project Superintendent now so it all
    worked out.
