Default Di2 Wire - Exit Top or Bottom of Chainstay?

I can't run the rear derailleur wire out through the dropout on this one, so the question is whether the Di2 wire should exit the top or the bottom of the chainstay. The Shimano tech manual is vague, I see it done both ways, and my inclination is to run the wire out the bottom of the chainstay, but I'm curious whether those with experience know better.

    Thanks!

I always run the wire exiting from the top. This way the e-tube will loop over the QR nut or thru axle and not get hanged up during wheel removal. Also its a cleaner path.
