so have a guy with an older (99-00ish) fisher hoo koo e koo frame that has some kind of sentimental value to him. ds chainstay is gouged pretty bad, and he wants it replaced. like, exactly if possible. which i don't think it is. first, it's a 19mm round at the bb, measures 18mm o.d. at the drop out, with a fairly pronounced (and dimpled inboard and out) s-bend (end measures approx. 77mm from bb), true temper triple butted vanadium sticker on the seat tube.
i haven't hunted this stuff much- is there anybody that even makes such a chainstay these days? seems like there's nothing out there (at least through a cursory search) smaller than 22 o.d.
i suggested replacing both chainstays just so they'll match, but he wants this to be as original as possible. again, i don't get it, but the man wants what he wants.
anybody have 1 or 3 of something laying around like this that'll work? even a straight 19/18 round that we could bend to match...
thanks,
abe
