Default Some days you're the hammer, some days you're the nail...

And some days you end up with a big pile of Max scrap after an accident in the shop.

I salvaged the lugs since they don't exist in excess anymore. That was Friday morning. Started the new tubeset that afternoon. Needed a beer at dinner.

Today was a better day. Hey, just wanted to commiserate a bit. Hope you don't mind.

Seat tube reamer came out of the holder as I was pulling it out of the frame.

The good...nice having the dogs in the shop on lonely days

The bad...when they silently lay down at your feet, behind you, as you are stepping back with a finished Ti frame ready for paint.

I've refinished a frame or two that had original paint and a ding filled with putty. I wonder how common it is and builders or painters fix them?

in production, really common. Along similar lines, a few years back Gibson ran an ad for their custom shop talking about the fine craftsmanship, but showing one of their workers repairing a new guitar. I laughed and laughed.

After a dent incident (luckily on a personal bike) I cut up an mtb grip and covered the ends of my vise handle. You can kind of see it here: 100_8167 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

I gotta say that I would have likely filled it with silver and made it a pit bike or sold it at full disclosure.........
