Torch Tip Adaptation

I've got some torch tips that are not compatible with my torch. Is there any reason why I can't cut the treads off the tips and braze on a bit with correct threads? Will the transition on the inside cause gas turbulence leading to a flame problem?

Do that with a couple of tips, inexpensive experiment that probably(imo) will be OK, let us kno. thanks, Brian

If I remember how to do Reynold's number calculations properly after all these years, an acetylene / oxygen mix flowing at 1 litre per minute through a tube with 5mm internal diameter will have a Reynold's number of about 10^4 which will put it in fully turbulent flow.

Erratum: I used the wrong dynamic viscosity value, the flow is laminar. Ignore this post.
